A train trip to Dutch Land...the wonderful Lexembourg.
For those who know little about this small country, I am quoting the Wikipedia Luxembourg, officially the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a small, landlocked country in western Europe, bordered by Belgium, France, and Germany. Luxembourg has a population of over half a million people in an area of approximately 2,586 square kilometres
I got a chance to travel to this small and beautiful country in Europe. The purpose of the trip was to renew Anoop's Visa. I forgot to mention about Anoop, he is my first buddy in my professional life. We started our friendship from my first company I joined. He is like the fun loving kind of guy who is very easy going, not much bothered about any problems of the life (if any...). His nature had huge influence on my behaviour also. The story of our great journeys will be too heavy for a blog page to handle. I will recollect each and every single bit from my memory and will try to stitch it together sometime later in this blog.
Our journey to
From Frankfurt am Main, multiple changeovers are required – usually in
We took ticket to Luxembourg Ville (main train station). I think the train to
I had a very high expectation on this train journey, from the internet and the movies I saw. I had very beautiful picture of
We didn’t find any wallpaper kind of places in our journey. The whole path were filled with bushes , wine yard (not so green), small towns with only few houses. We hardly find any human beings in half of our journey in train. But one thing I was happy is that I saw few Castles on the way which I assume to be the Vacation spots of the Billionaires in
The train route - goes along the Rhine river and you can see a bunch of castles.
We reached Lux Ville at around quarter pass twelve. We had to rush to the embassy over there for the Visa renew. After all the formalities ,we decided to roam around the city .Our return train was at 5pm eve so enough time to explore a new place. We both were very hungry , we got into an Indian Restaurant .We ordered a couple of beers, some rice , roti and chicken curry...
After having a very costly lunch we headed to explore the Grand Dutch Country. The city have a very nice shopping street with items from world famous designers. Like we always do ,we satisfied with window shoping.
In the middle of the city there is one
The next thing which catch my attention was a long bridge which connects two corners of the city. Its a masterpiece from the Dutch people. It reminds me of the
After roaming here and there we came back to the Train Station.Out side of the train station I found lot of young boys and girls who were smoking ans drinking ,making lot of fuzz.
Now the most funniest thing , I got a call from Nature and I managed to locate the restroom. But it’s a pre paid kind of restroom where I paid 1euro (approx:56 Indian Rs). That day I realised the value of our country, the freedom we get in
We started our journey back to frankfurt .

A dedication to my best friend...miss u
Artist: Alabama
Song: Angels Among Us
Took a shortcut through the woods and I lost my way
It was getting late and I was scared and alone
Then a kind old man took my hand and led me home
Mama couldn't see him, but he was standing there
But I knew in my heart, he was the answer to my prayers
Oh I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live
To teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love
When life dealt troubled times and had me down on my knees
There's always been someone there to come along and comfort me
A kind word from a stranger to lend a helping hand
A phone call from a friend just to say I understand
Ain't it kind of funny at the dark end of the road
Someone lights the way with just a single ray of hope
Oh I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live
To teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love
They wear so many faces
Show up in the strangest places
Grace us with thier mercy
In our time of need
Oh I believe there are angels among us
Sent down to us from somewhere up above
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live
To teach us how to give
To guide us with a light of love

My Hong Kong Trip - Day 3
My Hong Kong Trip - Day 2
My Hong Kong Trip - Day 1
Day 1
I woke up at 8am ,hearing the wake up call from Sumesh.
Afte all the morning duties I had dosa and chutni for the breakfast.
We started our day 1 trip at around 11am , the destination is "peak"
We started walking through the streets of "Wanchai " the place where my friend is staying.
My first impression about hk was not impressive,I saw flats on both sides of the road, most of them have their expiry date missed a few years back. The streets were not that clean enough, coming from Singapore (where cleanliness is a high priority and heavy fine for littering)I felt a little bit awkward, because the picture I had in my mind about hk was like a fairyland. I felt like I was walking through some streets in india.
I saw old trams, buses, small shops etc...but not really a metropolitian environment.
I forgot to mention about the climate in hk.its a moody climate. The climate we get in Kerala during the monsoon season, the climate which will make the kids lazy to got to school, the climate which will make the husband stay in bed under the warm of his lovely wife.
We went to the peak station. The peak station will give us an exotic ride in classic looking tramps which will take us to the peak in approx 15 mins ride , which inlcude the a step slope of 14degree.
The 'peak' is a mountain which contains private apartments and a tourist spot which is called the "terrace". The terrace tower will give a mind blowing view of the Hongkong sky scrapers. Its a very nice place which I wont forget. The peak gives you feeling that you in hill station in India, like Munnar or Kodai.
After a couple of hours we came down the peak in the same tramp by which we climbed.the differnce is that we are going in a backward direction
At around around 6pm we started over journey to view the skyscrapers in night mode.
I will qoute the words which I saw in the poster in harbour , by the national geographic traveller.
"The journey by the fery to the other side of city is one of the 50 moments in your life to be experienced"
Anyway I had the luck to perform that journey. The night view of the Hongkong city is an awesome view which u won't forget in your life.
The buildings of almost all the banking gaints are there , standing proudly in their incandescent makeover. For a moment we will think that is there anything else other than these concrete jungles.
After spending a couple of hours we returned back to ourhome.
At about 8pm when I was changing my dress ,I heard sudden sound of fire alarm,
Shyba was screaming . For one moment I was clueless wat the hell is happening.Shyba and Sumesh were running to the emergency exit.I follwed them blindly.
When we reach downstairsthe the old watchman was wondering why the alarm is buzzing. He went upstairs to check whether everything is ok.After few mins he came back like kid who is searching for his lost toy.But to my surprise ,in a 22 storey apartment no one except we 3 people even mind that the crap alarm is buzzing.
After about 45 mins fine engine came.(still none of the residents of the mansion came down)
The fire marchals went up and they came back after 10mins , informed us that everything is ok.
Anyway it was a nice horrifying experience for me in Hongkong .
For the dinner I told that I need "kanji " and "payer"(green gram curry).shyba prepared those items and we had a very nice homely food dinner on my first day of hong kong trip.
Tomorrow we are planning to go to the ocean park.
